Idea Framer

What is it?

Idea Framers help you summarise and communicate your strongest ideas in a quick, simple and visual way. It's like a one-page snapshot that captures the idea – what it is, how it might work, and what you need to think about – without going into detailed plans.

Why and when should I use this?

Once you've refined your concepts, use this tool to help you flesh out which one(s) you will take forward into development. It allows you to quickly deliver a polished presentation to get buy-in and feedback from strategic stakeholders. By focussing on the core components it will help you to distill what makes your idea a solution with potential.

How much time should I spend on this?

25 minutes. Keep this simple and clear. Spend a bit of time sketching how your idea would work to communicate with impact.

Who should I involve in this?

The team of people working on this with you and stakeholders you are looking to get feedback or buy-in from.

How to use it...

  1. Introduce your idea: Working from the ideas you have prioritised, create a description that clearly outlines what the idea is. What is it, what does it do, and why?
  2. Show how it works: Bring your idea to life in a way that works for your team: drawings, diagrams, metaphors and post-its. Consider how you can represent the key elements of you idea and link them together to illustrate how it functions.
  3. Describe the consequences of your idea: List the benefits, challenges and resources associated with your idea.
  4. Give it a catchy title!
