Feedback Dropbox
What is it?
This tool does what it says on the tin – a straight forward method to gather feedback in spaces that reach the right people that can be in situ for several weeks.
Why and when should I use this?
When you are looking to gather lots of opinions in an area or with a specific group, drop boxes are an easy, low resource method. They can be left at various locations and left un-facilitated with instructions on how to give feedback with something as simple as an A6 card and a sharpie.
How much time should I spend on this?
15 minutes to prepare the box and supplies to be left.
Who should I involve in this?
Work with stakeholders in the area you are dropping the boxes to learn what locations will tap into the right groups and have high footfall. Design and create your box and supporting materials with your team.
How to use it...
- Define what you want to find out: With you team, ask: What to we want to learn? Draft the questions you want to ask and prioritise.
- Define who you need to ask: Brainstorm the different stakeholder groups you want to get feedback from. Think about what groups or organisations can help you access these people like schools, community groups, youth groups, charities.
- Create your materials: Build a basic dropbox what specifies what your project is and what you are asking. Sketch out a rough poster with step-by-step instructions that provide clear guidance.
- Drop them off: Take your boxes to the venues you have connected with and walk them through how they work, how they can get support from you, and when you'll pick them up.
